Adaptive lighting control based on current illuminance

The Touch Panel Switch can automatically adjust the brightness of the connected lights based on the amount of natural light in the room, creating a more energy-efficient and comfortable environment.

Auto adjusting button backlight brightness based on illuminance

The Touch Panel Switch adapts backlight brightness to the current illuminance in the room. This creates an aesthetically pleasing way to use a touch panel switch at home, not blinding in the night and perfectly visible on sunny days.

Using Touch Panel Switch as a scene runner

Touch panel switches that can activate preset scenarios can provide a convenient and easy way to control multiple devices in your home with just a single touch. These scenarios can be stored in the memory of the device and can be customized to meet the specific needs of the user.

For example, a "welcome" scenario can be created to turn on all the lights, adjust the thermostat to a comfortable temperature, start music and open the curtains or blinds when you arrive home. This can provide a warm and welcoming environment, making you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door.

A "farewell" scenario, on the other hand, can be created to turn off all the lights, adjust the thermostat to an energy-saving temperature, and close the curtains or blinds when you leave your home. This can help save energy and provide added security when you are away.

In addition to the welcome and farewell scenarios, touch panel switches can also be used to activate other presets, such as a "bedtime" scenario that turns off all the lights and adjusts the temperature to a comfortable level for sleeping, or a "party" scenario that turns on the lights and music system to create a lively atmosphere.

Zero-Cross functionality that protects from inrush current

Inrush current is the initial surge of electrical current that occurs when an electrical device, such as an LED light, is first turned on. This surge can cause damage to the switch or connected appliances over time, as it creates sparks which can cause gradual wear and tear on the relay. The advanced zero cross technology in our Touch Panel Switch helps to mitigate the effects of inrush current by activating the relay at the exact zero-volt level of the alternating current wave, extending the lifespan of both the switch and connected appliances.

Using Touch Panel Switch for dimming

Touch Panel is an excellent choice to handle dimming functionalities of your lighting. In order to use the dimming feature with Touch Panel Switch, it should be associated with a Z-Wave dimmer or wired to any type of dimmers that are typically mounted on the ceiling next to the lights.

You can dim your lights using one-button or two-button dimming on the Touch Panel Switch. Holding the button increases/decreases the level of light, pressing - turns on/off. When turned on by default Touch Panel Switch restores the last state of light. If you use one-button dimming you can connect up to 5 individual z-wave dimmers to a single Touch Panel Switch quinto.

Smart dimming offers increased control, energy savings, and improved comfort and ambiance in your home. You can adjust the brightness levels in your home from anywhere, without having to physically go to each light switch. You can set the perfect lighting mood for any occasion, and reduce the amount of energy consumed by your lights, potentially leading to lower energy bills.

Showing live status of connected appliances

Backlight of any Touch Panel Switch button can show the live status of any connected or associated appliances: lights, doors, roller shutters - pretty much anything that can be “smart” in your house, without any wiring to Touch Panel Switch!

With the ability to see the status of connected appliances at a glance, users can have a more intuitive and convenient experience when controlling their smart home. The ability to see the status of doors and other security-sensitive appliances can help users keep their home secure by providing them with real-time information on the status of these devices.

Smart control of bathroom exhaust fans

Bathroom fans can be controlled by the Touch Panel Switch based on the current humidity level in the room. Just create a scenario to turn on the fan upon hitting a certain humidity level and disable it when humidity is down to normal amount automatically.

Control heating via Touch Panel Switch

Having a temperature sensor onboard, Touch Panel Switch can control heating water valves to adjust temperature inside the room according to the preset scenario. The Touch Panel Switch can also control electric heating up to 1 kW of connected load.

Smart irrigation control via Touch Panel Switch

The Touch Panel Switch can control your irrigation system to provide a more efficient, convenient, and environmentally-friendly way to water plants and manage a lawn or garden: turn it on and off, set schedules, and monitor usage from a single location.

The Touch Panel Switch can use data from soil moisture sensors to adjust the watering schedule and amount, ensuring that the plants receive the optimal amount of water reducing over-watering and preventing water waste.

Maintain optimal humidity level using Touch Panel Switch

HELTUN Touch Panel Switch with an onboard humidity sensor can provide several advantages when associated to a smart z-wave plug connected to a room humidifier or dehumidifier:

By monitoring the humidity levels in the room, the touch panel switch can automatically turn on the humidifier when the humidity drops below a certain level, or, vice versa, turn on dehumidifier in case of humidity higher than the normal level, ensuring that the air in the room remains comfortable and healthy which can have a positive impact on respiratory health, skin, and overall comfort.

Using Touch Panel Switches as 3-way and 4-way switches

Touch Panel Switches may be associated with each other without wiring and provide the control of lighting or motorized devices from several locations acting as 3-way and 4-way switches. In fact, you can add an unlimited number of switches and associate them without wiring!

3-way and 4-way switches are commonly used to control a single light from two, three and even more different locations, such as at the top and bottom of a staircase. In case of using Touch Panel Switches, you don’t have to wire them together and the same live status of the light is maintained on the backlight regardless of which switch is turned on or off. This makes the installation process much more simple and gives you the opportunity to choose any convenient place for the switch, or add another switch when you need it.

Note: You can replace all your 3- and 4-way mechanical switches with Touch Panel Switches by HELTUN, but you cannot directly wire a mechanical 3- or 4-way switch to Touch Panel Switch.

Using Touch Panel Switch to arm/disarm security alarm

The Touch Panel Switch can be used to arm and disarm a security alarm, providing a convenient and streamlined way to manage home security. By integrating the Touch Panel Switch with a security alarm system, you can arm or disarm the alarm with just a touch, eliminating the need to navigate through multiple menus or enter a code on a separate keypad.

Using Touch Panel Switch to control 2-channel electric heaters

Having the ability to control two channels on an electric radiator provides the user with more flexibility and control over their heating, saving energy and reducing their heating costs. The user can choose which channel to activate based on the desired temperature level, allowing for customized heating in each room. If the user needs to heat a room quickly, they can set the second channel to a higher power or temperature, resulting in faster heating.

Touch Panel Switch is able to choose which channel to activate based on temperature level detected by built-in temperature sensor.

Group control of all thermostats in your house

Touch Panel Switch provides a convenient, centralized control of heating in multiple rooms, making it an efficient and convenient solution for home heating control. When the user leaves the house, they can activate the "Away" or "Leave" setting on the Touch Panel Switch, which will automatically set all thermostats in the house to a lower temperature to save energy and reduce heating costs. When the user returns home, they can activate the "Home" or "Return" setting on the Touch Panel Switch, which will automatically set all thermostats to their desired temperature, ensuring a comfortable home environment.

Using Touch Panel Switches as repeaters in Z-Wave network

The 700-series chips in Touch Panel Switches are specifically designed for Z-Wave communication, providing improved range and reliability compared to other chipsets. Touch Panel Switches can act as repeaters in the network, increasing the connection distance between devices. This means that if one device is out of range of the Z-Wave hub, Touch Panel Switches can pick up the signal and repeat it, extending the range of the network.
