Use Cases: 5x Relay Switch Quinto
HELTUN Relay Switch Quinto is the only Z-Wave switch on the market with 5 dry contact relays and such a small size that fits any standard wall box.
Quinto can be used to control lighting, run scenes, electronic locks, electric valves, and motorized devices like curtains, blinds, gates, and windows.
It's a perfect tool to be be connected to both AC and DC appliances at the same time, for example DC motorized blinds, DC LED strip, and AC ceiling lighting. The power of the device is independent: from 24 to 265 VAC or VDC while any voltage can be connected to inputs and outputs as this device has dry contact relays.
Among unique features of the Quinto is that it has pilot wires for each output, so each relay can be controlled both by the Z-Wave network and physically by a wall switch. This is convenient for lighting, for example, you can use your old switches and still use home automation at the same time.
Enjoy the best functionality on the market with the following possible use cases:
Control AC and DC appliances from a single relay switch
Relay Switch Quinto can control and monitor up to 5 AC and DC (any voltage) appliances at the same time, as it has 5 independent relays and 2 independent inputs. These appliances include but are not limited to lighting, electronic locks, electric valves, and motorized devices like curtains, blinds, gates, and windows.
Make your lighting switch smart
Install Relay Switch Quinto behind your lighting switch to be able to control the connected appliances (lighting, blinds, shades) using your smartphone. Connect the switches to Quinto by pilot wires to be able to use regular switches as well. Create schedules based on your daily habits.
Make your multi-gang switch smart
Install Relay Switch Quinto behind your multi-gang switch to be able to control the connected appliances (lighting, blinds, shades) using your smartphone. Because it contains 5 independent relays, a single Relay Switch Quinto can make up to a 5-gang switch smart. Connect the switches to Quinto by pilot wires to be able to use regular switches as well. Create schedules based on your daily habits.
Make your motorized blinds and shades smart
Control up to two different motorized blinds and shades with a single Quinto Relay Switch to integrate them into a smart home environment and manage them from your smartphone. Create schedules based on your daily habits. Combine it with AC or DC lighting control using a single device.
Control the status of your garage doors, gates, shutters and road barriers
Control the status of your garage doors, gates, shutters, and road barriers from your smartphone to increase security by deterring intruders and providing an added layer of protection for your home or property. With automation, you can also set a schedule to open or close the barriers at specific times, which can help you save time and effort.
Open the garage door when you are close to your home
You can easily control your motorized gates and garage doors using Relay Switch Quinto through smart scenarios set up in your hub to open the garage door and your gates right when you drive in.
Make your water heating manifolds smart
In order to control temperature in each room, heating thermostats are installed in each room and connected to Relay Switch Quinto via Z-Wave association. Relay Switch Quinto is placed next to the heating manifold; it has 5 relay outputs and can control up to 5 individual valves. Because you don't have to wire each thermostat to a valve with this installation, you won't need a lot of wiring.
Controlling several pumps and valves in a boiler room from a single relay switch
Install Relay Switch Quinto inside your boiler room and connect it to up to 5 pumps and valves to provide smart control and monitoring from a smartphone app and create different schedules.
Smart control of shutoff valves based on leakage detection
Relay Switch Quinto can be installed in a utility room to provide smart control of the shutoff valves if the water leakage is detected by any of the water leakage sensors placed throughout your home. Get instant notifications of both the possible leakages and water shutoffs straight to your smartphone.
Using Fan Coil Thermostat without wiring it to the fan coil unit
Sometimes the HELTUN Fan Coil Thermostat thermostat is installed far from the fan coil unit or the installer doesn’t have the ability to wire the thermostat to the fan coil unit. In this case, Relay Switch Quinto by HELTUN is installed next to the fan coil unit, such as on the ceiling, and wired to its inputs. The Fan Coil Thermostat is linked to The Relay Switch by Z-Wave association, and the Relay Switch mirrors all states that are set at the Fan Coil Thermostat.
Using Relay Switch Quinto to control fan coil units
This use case is particularly important for heritage buildings and for those cases when the installation requires centralized control of fan coil units without installing thermostats on the walls. Relay Switch Quinto in such a case is acting as a fan coil thermostat receiving temperature data from external temperature sensor through controller. This type of installation helps to save budget on the thermostats and wiring.
Control general and accent lighting through a single device
Relay Switch Quinto allows you to control AC general lighting in your room and DC LED strip accent lighting from a single device. Having two independent inputs, Relay Switch Quinto controls two different voltages at the same time, and advanced zero-cross functionality protects relays from inrush current: burning relays is a common problem when you control your LED lights.
Divide your lighting into groups
Installing Relay Switch Quinto on the ceiling gives the opportunity to divide your lighting into up to 5 individually controlled groups that can be managed through smartphone app without additional wiring.
Retrofit: Smart lighting control with less wiring
Same way as in previous use Relay Switch Quinto is installed on the ceiling or in a hidden place. Your everyday lighting control may be done from a smartphone app or via an associated Touch Panel Switch that is placed on the wall. No extra wiring from Relay Switch to the Touch Panel is required.
Control door and lock from a single relay switch
You can connect both door and lock from a single relay switch regardless of what voltage they use to monitor the status of the lock and control it via a smartphone app.
Control 2 separate power lines within one building
If the main power line within a building is duplicated by a backup, both lines can be controlled by a single device by connecting both lines to Relay Switch Quinto as it has two independent inputs.
