Fan Coil Thermostat by HELTUN is not just a perfect tool to integrate your 2-pipe and 4-pipe fan coil units into a smart Z-Wave environment providing remote control and energy savings. There are a lot of use cases that are possible only with HELTUN Z-Wave Fan Coil Thermostat:
1️⃣ Not only fan coil unit but also water radiators, water and electric underfloor heating, DC floor convectors
Fan Coil Thermostat can control cooling by a fan coil unit and heating by a water or electric underfloor heating systems, as well as water radiators. In that case, the fan has to be OFF when heating; disabling the fan for certain modes is possible only for HELTUN.
2️⃣ AC fan and DC valves at the same time
Fan Coil Thermostat by HELTUN has separate dry contact potential-free inputs for fan outputs and valves outputs, that are independent from the main power of the thermostat. A user can use one voltage as the main power to power up the Thermostat (24-265 VAC/VDC), the other one – for fan (any AC/DC voltage/signal), and the third one – for valves (any AC/DC voltage); and this installation is available out of the box without having to install any converters! It’s not possible with any other z-wave fan coil thermostat on the market.
3️⃣ Fan coil unit without direct wiring through associated Relay Switch
Sometimes the thermostat is installed far from the fan coil unit or the installer doesn’t have the ability to wire the thermostat to the fan coil unit. In this case, 5x Relay Switch by HELTUN is installed next to the fan coil unit, such as on the ceiling, and wired to its inputs. The Fan Coil Thermostat is linked to The Relay Switch by Z-Wave association, and the Relay Switch mirrors all states that are set at the Fan Coil Thermostat.
4️⃣ A fan or valve which voltage is different from the thermostat's main power voltage
Fan Coil Thermostat by HELTUN has separate dry contact potential-free inputs for fan outputs and valves outputs that are independent from the main power of the thermostat. It means that the fan can be powered from a different voltage than the thermostat's main power—right out of the box, without the need for any converters! It’s not possible with any other z-wave fan coil thermostat on the market.
5️⃣ Both NO and NC types of valves
Fan Coil Thermostat can control both NO and NC types of valves.
6️⃣ Transmit data from embedded temperature, humidity and lighting sensors to the controller to be further used to create scenarios based on these data
Fan Coil Thermostat has three embedded sensors: Ambient light sensor, Room temperature sensor, and Humidity sensor. All the data regarding lighting level, temperature or humidity in the room are transferred to the z-wave controller; can be also used to create different scenarios through the z-wave controller for other devices like relay switches, shutters, thermostats, etc.
7️⃣ 3-wire valve
HELTUN Fan Coil Thermostat is the only z-wave fan coil thermostat capable of controlling three-wire valves. In case of such installation, the control wires are shorted for a few seconds using TIME mode to control the open/close state and prevent damage to the valve. When not controlled, the valve is always voltage-free.
8️⃣ 0-10V fan coil units through association with a Z-Wave dimmer
In order to use HELTUN Fan Coil Thermostat with 0-10V fan coil units, the installation requires Z-Wave dimmer, for example this 0-10V dimmer by Qubino, or 0-12V dimmers that are usually installed for lighting.
In this case, the Fan Coil Thermostat is wired only to heating and cooling valves, and the fan speed input of the fan coil unit is wired to the dimmer. Fan Coil Thermostat sends the fan state to the z-wave controller that controls the Dimmer through scenarios.
